An Open Letter to America

The essay An Open Letter to America originally written on February 14, 2006, was distributed to Minnesota Congressman Jim Ramstad, Minnesota Senator Norm Coleman, and Minnesota Senator Mark Dayton calling for the impeachment of President George W. Bush for actions violating the constitution and his oath of office.

In An Open Letter to America I contrast the differences between our understanding of American rights and freedoms and what has actually become of them. Based on that contrast I explore the President Bush’s actions in light of the Constitution’s protections. I also explain why President Bush doesn’t have the authority that he lays claim to and how that claim of power violates the Constitution.

I look forward to your comments on this essay and discussing those comments to better explore this very important subject that may define this country for generations to come.
